FAMILY NIGHTS

The concept of family is God's idea, and we want to help your family stay strong in the Lord. On Wednesday Nights, we want to bless your family. More than 70 people of all ages gather at 6:00pm for dinner. We know how busy you are, so we want you to just come. We will cook for you. We will clean for you. No need to go through a drive-thru after sports or band or dance. We want your family to just come as you are. After dinner, there is Bible Study for everyone. Nursery is provided. Kids Club for your littles. Youth group for your teens. Plus men's Bible Study for dads and Womens Bible Study for moms. Every family needs to pause and re-group mid-week. Come on Wednesdays. Let us feed you, take the kids for a while, give you some adult time, and most importantly, re-charge you with God's Word.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Similar to Wednesday Nights, we want to meet the needs of your whole family on Sunday mornings. There is Sunday School for the whole family. The Anchor Class, a Sunday School class for parents, meets in the Fellowship Hall. We are currently working through Paul David Tripp's Fourteen Gospel Principles of Parenting. This class is taught by Pastor John and focuses topics such as marriage, parenting, personal faith, and evangelism.

While the parents are in Anchor Class, the children are broken out by age for Sunday School. We provide classes for Nursery, Preschool, Kindergarten-2nd, 3rd-5th, and Higher Grounds for our teens 6th-12th. The whole family then comes back together for worship at 11:00. Children's church and nursery are provided during the service for children 2nd Grade and younger.

DISCIPLESHIP

We want to help every teen have a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. Spending time in God's Word with friends and leaders who love Jesus is a wonderful way that our teens grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. On Wednesday Nights, our teens gather at 6:00pm for dinner. At 6:30 youth group begins. The teens eat well, play hard, then settle down for their Bible lesson and prayer. On Wednesday nights, the teen Bible studies are topical, focusing on daily application of Biblical truths.

On Sunday Mornings, the teens gather at 10:00am for Higher Grounds. This Sunday School Class takes a more in depth look at the scriptures one verse at a time. The teens who gather on Sunday morning consider the spiritual needs of their friends and family, and pray for opportunities to share the gospel.

FELLOWSHIP

We provide opportunities for our teenagers to be social in a safe, Christian environment. In the past year, our teens attended two Christian Concerts: We the Kingdom and Mercy Me in Salisbury, MD. Our teens also went to the Bowling Alley, the Beach, the Island Creamery, and a Bonfire Youth Rally. Atlantic Baptist is blessed to have a wonderful team of youth leaders with Brad and Taylor Watson at the helm. We major in fun and fellowship, and our church helps every outing to be affordable for the family.

MISSIONS

March of Dimes- Walk For Life

We do not consider our teens the church of tomorrow but rather the church of today. We know that the best missionary to elementary-age children is a well-trained teenager who loves the Lord. In the Fall, with the help of the church and the community, the ABC Craft Bazaar raised $17,000 for youth missions. Our teens will attend Christian Youth In Action Camp this June to learn to share the Gospel through 5-Day Clubs. After this week of training, our teens will take what they have learned on an Appalachian Mission Trip. Our teens will then round out their summers by teaching the Bible portion of our Vacation Bible School in August.

Shepherds Ministry

In early fall of 2023, seventeen members of Atlantic Baptist Church met to organize a way to help those in the congregation who may need assistance with daily tasks such as rides, meals, errands, or house maintenance. Our intention was to form a team who could be called upon during a time of need.

With Jan Abbott as chair, the Shepherd Ministry began meeting the needs of the congregation from its very inception; providing meal trains to the sick, giving rides to the doctor, cleaning out gutters, installing appliances, visiting, and doing light home repairs.

This amazing group gives willingly of their time and talents, often without even a mention of what they have done.

Missions

Missions

Winter Missions Conference - January 26-28, 2024 was held at Atlantic Baptist Church. The purpose of this Missions Conference was to gain confidence and skill in sharing the Gospel with the next generation. Approximately 40 adults and youth members were in attendance. It was a wonderful conference!
